What Stood Out: Week of January 31st 2016

Welcome to this week’s edition of What Stood Out

As you may know, I review thousands of articles relating to marketing, business, productivity, or leadership each week. While many of the posts are insightful and well-written, some truly rise to the top and challenge my thinking or offer a new perspective.

Often, these gems don’t always fit into the traditional topics covered on my blog; nevertheless, they should be shared and discussed.

This week, these pieces stood out:

  • Pagevamp
Allows admins to turn Facebook Pages into a website. The app creates scrolling header image with profile photos. Additionally, it formats previous Facebook Page Posts into individual blog entries on the new site. The app features page creation and ecommerce customizations.
  • Home Design App lets you “Try On” Decor
Another example of adding a touch-point in an industry that has lagged behind in content marketing. Excellent use of creating an app to bridge the gap between slightly interested and hot prospects.
  • Avoiding Startup Board Meetings That Suck
We have all been in meetings, specifically board meetings, that are mismanaged and a waste of time. Accel tackles how to avoid those meetings in our startup.
